This precious little creature found her home before ever posting on this page, which sometimes contains a few “not available “ puppies, because, as in the case of Honey Belle, she was chosen early, because I knew her family had aching hearts and were all too ready for my next tiny Blenheim girl. I had been watching the puppies grow and knew in my heart she was the perfect fit for Sally and her family. The moment her pictures were taken, I shared them so they could have something to look forward to after losing their beloved Popcorn, whom they picked up from Foxglove Farm almost 14 years ago.

Oh, that bittersweet part of being a raiser of puppies, sending them to their forever 🏡 ‘s and smiling over the updates and Christmas cards that arrive periodically, the letters that proclaim that the puppy I sent home so many years ago was truly the best dog in the whole world…

Then, inevitably, because these O’ so beloved dogs of ours never live long enough, the sad news comes that the family I met so many years ago cannot go on without another puppy to love. A puppy that can never take the place of that lost one, but I have found, can truly help bring healing to broken hearts…

“I am having a hard time even writing this because we are still mourning losing our beloved Cavachon Popcorn after 13 & a half wonderful years. I wear a locket with her picture. It took me 17 years to convince my husband to bring a dog into our family, and once she was with us, he was in love. She helped us raise our beautiful 3 children, and helped me through grad school,,, and now, we are painfully enduring our quiet home…”

And so little Honey Belle has a big job to do, this small creature with her golden curls and tiny, winsome face, and that heart brimming over with all the love in the world to share with her new family. In a few days, when Sally & her husband make the trip to Foxglove Farm to pick her up, I’ll watch them go out my kitchen door with a new puppy in their arms, to start yet another journey with one of the best dogs they’ll ever own. And, I will have done my job in helping them find Puppy Love yet again, because sometimes that’s the only thing in the world that can mend a broken heart.💔
