I took all these amazing pictures of “Sweetie Pie” (as she’s known here at home), and then,,, in my vastly excited attempts to share her with my Puppy People, I left all of them in the folder where they have languished for over a week, Eek! That’s what a kitchen remodel will do for you, fair warning my friends! At last, the smoke alarm is happily silent in my house but getting back to normal is another thing entirely lol.

SO, back to lil gorgeous with her truly over-the-top white boots… I’m over the moon for so many things about this puppy; her rich dark mahogany coloring, those icing white markings, yes,,, her snowy white stockings, her precious expression, winsome and ever so earnest, yes, utterly irresistible.

She’s a delight, full of personality, a softly affectionate little creature who will charm your socks off, I promise. She’s cheerful and outgoing, giving puppy kisses and lots of wags of her tiny tail the moment she meets someone. (Oh, yes, as to size,,, about 12 pounds grown, small but mighty she says!).

A lovely choice for just about any setting. If you are in the market for a canine companion who will cuddle happily by the hour but zoom and zip around the back yard when you want her on squirrel duty, look no further, hurry and secure her before some other savvy Puppy Seeker beats you to it!

Every once in a while, a puppy comes along who makes me look suspiciously good at my job.

Meet Pumpkin Jack.

This scrumptious Cavapoo boy is one of those wonderfully agreeable little souls who seems to wake up each morning prepared to cooperate with whatever peculiar ideas the humans may have planned for the day.

And on Puppy Picture Day, I tested that theory.

You see, somewhere along the way, someone decided that Pumpkin Jack should wear a tiny crocheted monkey hat and pose for a photograph saying “Trick or Treat!”

This is not, strictly speaking, a reasonable request to make of a puppy.

I approached the situation cautiously.

Pumpkin Jack did not.

On went the little monkey hat. Down fell those beautiful, long spanielly ears on either side of his face. Pumpkin Jack looked around, apparently concluded that the grown-ups had finally lost their minds, and then...

posed.

Cheerfully.

No wrestling match. No monkey-hat massacre. No frantic photographer crawling beneath the furniture trying to retrieve either puppy or prop.

Just Pumpkin Jack, sitting there being the bestest boy ever.

And that really is the essence of this darling puppy.

Pumpkin Jack has a naturally sweet, willing little spirit that makes being with him an absolute pleasure. He's happy and playful, because goodness knows a little boy cannot be expected to behave like a church deacon ALL the time, but there's an underlying gentleness about him—a lovely willingness to trust his people and go along with the program.

He is affectionate without being demanding, playful without requiring the National Guard, and curious about his world without feeling personally responsible for dismantling it.

In other words, the hoodlums have not recruited him.

Yet.

Pumpkin Jack would much rather stay on the respectable side of puppy society, thank you very much.

And then there are those ears.

Those glorious, silky, spanielly ears framing a face so sweet that resistance seems rather pointless. Add his beautiful Cavapoo coat, soulful expression, and wonderfully agreeable temperament, and Pumpkin Jack has all the makings of one of those dogs a family talks about years later:

“He was just the BEST dog.”

I think so too.

So, Trick or Treat?

With Pumpkin Jack, I’m fairly certain you get the treat. 🎃

Although I cannot guarantee that the monkey hat will survive another photo shoot.

At first glance, Winston Ciderpaws appears to be a rather serious young gentleman.

Soulful dark eyes. Handsome red curls. A thoughtful expression. Beautiful white markings. The general air of a puppy who might enjoy classical music and have strong opinions about the proper placement of dessert forks.

Don't fall for it.

Look into those eyes just a little longer and you'll see it:

the sillies.

They're in there.

Winston is a wonderfully smart, funny little Cavapoo boy with a tender heart, a cheerful outlook on life, and paws that appear to have been ordered approximately two sizes too large, one of which appears to be a misplaced snowshoe firmly attached to his left front foot lol.

I assume he'll grow into them.

Eventually.

In the meantime, those magnificent puppy clodhoppers occasionally present a logistical challenge—particularly when something important is happening on the other side of the nursery.

Like cookies.

Winston LOVES cookies.

Unfortunately, Winston has sisters.

By the time our sweet boy gets the message that treats have arrived, organizes all four oversized paws in approximately the same direction, and comes galloping toward the festivities, the girls have generally swooped in, collected the merchandise, and left nothing behind but crumbs and disappointment.

Winston never complains.

That's what sisters are for, right?

They steal the best toys.

They nab the puppy cookies.

They tease him unmercifully.

And Winston just keeps loving them.

Because that's the sort of little fellow he is.

Winston seems to have been born with a particular fondness for all creatures great and small. He's curious and sociable, sweet-hearted and playful, and seems genuinely delighted to make friends with whoever—or whatever—happens to cross his path.

He has plenty of puppy mischief tucked inside that handsome redheaded package, but there's a gentleness underneath it that makes Winston especially endearing. He's the kind of boy who can make you laugh one minute and then look up at you with those deep, soulful eyes the next and make you wonder how a puppy could possibly be so sweet.

And smart?

Oh yes.

We're fairly certain Winston understands considerably more than he lets on.

He's simply discovered that sometimes it's advantageous for a handsome young man surrounded by sisters to keep his mouth shut.

Wise boy.

For the family looking for a funny, affectionate, good-natured Cavapoo boy with a soft heart, a quick mind, and just enough puppy silliness bubbling underneath the surface to keep everybody entertained, Winston Ciderpaws may be exactly the fellow you've been waiting for.

Cavachon Puppy Sable & White Boy | Oh Me Oh My! | 14 or so Pounds All Grown Up

Picture a slightly round little gentleman who has already reviewed the household rules and found several of them unacceptable. This little CHARACTER! I did get a bit over the top in his description below, yes, he’s not a fan of crate time but I promise, even the baddest babies can turn out to be simply amazing dogs. My Hastings, OH, SO BAD!!! Now, he’s 6 year old, a respectable gentleman about 90% of the time and more fun than the law allows the rest of the time. WE ADORE HIM!!! I added a selfie of myself and our boy in Alfie’s gallery,,, so you can see the all grown up good boy himself… Now, on to our current little gangster!

There are puppies who happily entertain themselves, puppies who appreciate a little personal space—and then there is Alfie Applebaum, who considers personal space a tragic misunderstanding.

This scrumptious sable & white Cavachon morsel has already decided that the very best place for a puppy is not in a crate, playpen, puppy bed, or any other contraption designed to suggest that he might occasionally occupy a space all by himself. Oh, heavens no. Alfie would MUCH prefer to be attached to a warm, cozy human, tucked into the crook of an arm or sprawled happily across a lap like a small sock monkey who has somehow come to life.

And really, who could blame him? Alfie is an exceptionally affectionate little fellow with sweetness tucked into every sable curl. He loves being talked to, cuddled, carried about, and generally included in whatever his people happen to be doing. If there is an available lap anywhere in the vicinity, Alfie considers it his personal responsibility to fill it. Hubby John was carting the little hoodlum around tonight and I promise you, Alfie looked at me out of the corner of his eye with this smug expression like “See, Mama Terry, a puppy’s place is in someone’s arms!!!”

He isn't only a professional snuggler, of course. There is plenty of happy puppy mischief tucked inside that cuddly little package. Alfie enjoys his toys, his siblings, and a good bout of puppy nonsense—but when the festivities wind down, don't be surprised if he comes toddling back in search of his favorite thing in all the world: you.

For the family dreaming of that wonderfully devoted little Cavachon who wants to be part of absolutely everything, Alfie Applebaum may be your boy. He'll bring the puppy kisses, the comic relief, and enough warm little snuggles to make an ordinary Tuesday feel considerably better. Every puppy nursery needs at least one child who restores your faith in good parenting.

Around here, that would be Peek-A-Boo.

While certain other small residents—whom Peek-A-Boo privately refers to as “the hoodlums”—are busy testing the structural integrity of the playpen, plotting unauthorized excursions, and generally exploring just how much trouble can be accomplished before a grown-up notices, Peek-A-Boo can usually be found sitting nearby looking positively aghast.

Honestly. The behavior.

This gorgeous Ruby & White Cavapoo princess is as good as the Sables are bad, with a naturally sweet, compliant little spirit that makes you want to scoop her up and tell her she's your favorite. (Not that I have favorites. Of course.)

Peek-A-Boo has that lovely, easygoing quality I treasure in a puppy. She watches. She listens. She wants to please. And when you pick her up, she seems to settle naturally into your arms as though she's quite certain this is exactly where a well-mannered young lady belongs.

But don't mistake good for boring.

Peek-A-Boo is still a happy, playful little Cavapoo girl who thoroughly enjoys puppy games, toys, scampering about, and the occasional well-timed zoomie. She simply sees no reason why one must become a hooligan in order to have a good time. There are standards, after all.

And goodness, is she pretty.

Her rich ruby & white coat, darling expression, and feminine little face make Peek-A-Boo the sort of puppy who causes people to stop mid-sentence and say, “Ohhhh...look at HER.” But it's her gentle sweetness that really seals the deal. Spend a little time with this girl and you'll discover that beneath all that pretty packaging is an affectionate, sensible little soul who seems destined to become someone's deeply adored companion.

In fact, Peek-A-Boo may be just the puppy for the household containing one particular family member who has been heard saying things like:

“We are NOT getting a puppy.”

Oh dear.

We all know how this story ends.

Because one evening that very same person will discover Peek-A-Boo curled contentedly beside them on the sofa, gaze down into those beautiful little eyes, and ask the rest of the family why nobody remembered to buy his puppy a nicer bed.

Yes, she’s my tiny grandmother...She looks as though she's been 67 years old since birth, and should be sitting on the couch, wearing tiny spectacles, crocheting one of the grandkids a nice afghan for Christmas.🎄

Not old in appearance, mind you—she's darling—but there is something wonderfully earnest about that little face. She looks like the puppy who notices you forgot your sweater, worries whether everyone has eaten enough, and would very much appreciate it if the other puppies would stop running through the house.

Sweet Potato Pie may have shown up wearing her fancy white go-go boots, but Prudence has such beautiful soft apricot/caramel curls, a delicate white muzzle and chest, and that soulful little expression. She's quieter visually—which actually suits Prudence perfectly.

Some puppies burst into the world ready to make a spectacle of themselves.

Prudence De' Pup Pup would prefer a word with those puppies.

This sweet little Cavapoo girl is an earnest old soul tucked inside a soft, curly puppy body—the sort of baby who seems to have arrived already possessing good judgment, sensible shoes, and perhaps a recipe for an excellent chicken casserole.

While some of her siblings are busy auditioning for Puppies Gone Wild, Prudence is much more likely to be watching quietly from the sidelines, wondering whether all that carrying-on is strictly necessary.

She's my little old lady.

And I mean that as the highest possible compliment.

Prudence has the same soft, agreeable sweetness I love in her sister Peek-A-Boo. She's gentle, affectionate, compliant-natured, and wonderfully content to be loved on. There is something peaceful about this girl—a tender little quality that makes you instinctively soften your voice when you pick her up.

And Prudence likes being picked up.

Very much.

Her ambitions are refreshingly modest: a comfortable lap, a dependable supply of kisses, pleasant conversation, regular meals, and perhaps a nice spot in bed alongside her favorite person.

She is, after all, retired.

From what, I haven't determined.

Now, compared with a few of her more extravagantly decorated siblings, Prudence arrived in a slightly plainer brown wrapper. No flashy knee-high white go-go boots. No monkey hat. No apparent desire to become an Instagram influencer.

But spend a little time with her and something happens.

You start noticing those soft curls. The sweet white touches around her little face. Those beautiful dark eyes that seem to be studying you with tremendous sincerity.

And then she snuggles in.

That's when Prudence gets you.

Because this isn't a puppy who needs to shout LOOK AT ME! from across the room.

Prudence is the puppy you find yourself still holding twenty minutes later.

She's the one who quietly works her way underneath your chin...and quite possibly straight into your heart.

For someone looking beyond flashy markings for that wonderfully gentle, devoted little Cavapoo companion—the sort who seems born knowing that home is wherever her favorite person happens to be—our sweet Prudence may turn out to be the prettiest package of all.

In this litter of truly stunning Cavapoo babies, my Prudence gets to be the little sleeper candidate: the puppy somebody notices second and falls in love with first. Don’t miss her, she’s a treasure on four-paws.

Oh, Minnie Maple! 😂 Look at that face. She's absurdly pretty, and I completely believe she has no idea.

That may actually be her greatest charm. Sweet Potato Pie knows she's wearing the boots. Prudence has already joined AARP. Peek-A-Boo is maintaining standards. Pumpkin Jack is Employee of the Month.

Minnie?

Minnie would like to know when recess starts and WHY THE BOY GOT THE MONKEY HAT.

It is sometimes terribly inconvenient to be beautiful.

Fortunately, Minnie Maple hasn't noticed.

This breathtaking mahogany & white Cavapoo girl has the sort of good looks this dog fancier dreams about—a beautiful blaze, rich ruby curls, snowy white accents, enormous dark eyes, and a face that looks as though a teddy bear had come to life.

Minnie Maple is my beautiful little tomboy.

She's sweet and affectionate, certainly, and perfectly happy to settle in for some loving—but there's a cheerful, playful streak in Minnie that keeps that pretty little nose pointed toward whatever might be happening next.

She doesn't need to be the center of attention.

She just doesn't want to miss anything interesting.

Which brings me to The Monkey Hat Incident.

Minnie would like it entered into the official record that on Puppy Picture Day, Pumpkin Jack got to wear the monkey hat.

Minnie did not.

She has tried to be gracious about this.

Mostly.

There was no scene, of course. Minnie Maple is a lady. But I’m fairly certain she watched her brother posing in that ridiculous crocheted confection and thought:

Really? HIM?

Apparently nobody explained that when you're already this pretty, accessorizing becomes completely unnecessary.

And perhaps that's what makes Minnie so irresistible. Beneath all those spectacular curls is a wonderfully unpretentious little girl who isn't remotely interested in being admired from across the room.

She'd rather join the family.

She wants to play. She wants to investigate. She wants to follow along and see what's happening. She wants her cuddles and her adventures, preferably in generous and approximately equal portions.

Minnie has enough sweetness to melt you, enough playfulness to entertain you, and just enough tomboy spunk to make sure life with her will never become too terribly dignified.

For the family looking for a beautiful Cavapoo girl who doesn't know she's beautiful—and therefore hasn't become the least bit big-headed about it—Minnie Maple may be awfully difficult to resist.

She doesn't need fancy clothes.

She doesn't need a velvet cushion.

She doesn't even need to be told she's gorgeous.

But...

she would still like a monkey hat of her very own. ❤️🐒

Sometimes puppies name themselves; how in the world did this small creature end up with such a big name? This sweet baby has already decided that big, fancy name or no, she’s the bestest girl, and her yet-to-be-introduced new family will be over the moon for her, and she’ll be equally smitten with them and love them with all of her puppy heart.❤️

She’s already dreaming of a big yard with room to zip about and show any resident squirrels what a real dog looks like; she’s small but mighty lol. Or, how about an old-fashioned session on the porch with a lovely flannel blanket to wrap her in? Puppy dreams indeed!

A wonderful choice for a second dog, not a bit alpha, she’ll happily cozy up to your elderly Golden Retriever and tell him that yes indeedy, he really did want a puppy to share his favorite bed with. Ah, yes, puppies are such good medicine for older dogs; they bring a zest and sweet puppy energy that can make a new dog out of your old guy. I do get letters!

All in all, a truly lovable miss; she’s trusting and looks at you with those big eyes, pleading that there really is room in your lap for the book you’re reading AND her small self. She’ll blend in seamlessly with the fabric of your life, and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without her 🤗

Cavachon Puppy Apricot & Cream Boy | Hiking Buddy Wannabe | 15 Pounds Grown

Oh, Travis Brown is just the best little puppy guy! That earnest gaze- he looks right into your eyes and promises he’s going to be SUCH a GOOD PUPPY (until he forgets, which occasionally, in the life of every puppy, will happen lol). Aside from occasional lapses in puppy judgement, though, he’s a compliant puppy kid and will do his very best to earn lots of praise and liver treats.

I’m in love with these Apricot Cavachons, such an unusual color, with hints of cream and snowy toes peeking out. His coat is like spun silk, with the perfect glossy texture that will keep him easy to brush and care for in between groomings. By the way, if he comes to live at your house, remind me to send along his puppy pictures for you to share with his groomer. He’ll always look like a puppy, with his round teddy-bear face and wavy curls, but pictures will help keep her on track if she’s never groomed a Cavachon.

I mentioned above that he’d love to go hiking with his new people; he’s smallish but has the heart of a big dog, so include him in all of your outdoor as well as indoor activities, though if you’ve more of a mind to sit on the porch and watch the leaves fall, he’ll be equally happy to sit with you. My Hastings loves to sit with me on our porch swing; he gauges carefully and then UP he hops to land next to me, find a cozy spot, and curl up while I read a book, hopefully with a nice flannel blanket draped over him to keep the chill off. He is such a comfort hound 🐶

From keeping up with a whole posse of kids to settling in for an evening by the fire, he’ll be an easy fit in just about any setting. A lovely choice for a second dog, by the way, if you’ve got an older Lab who’s getting a bit chubby, Travis will help him trim down; nothing like a puppy to bring the zest back for a senior dog!

So, look deep into this darling puppy’s eyes and see if he doesn’t jump off the page and literally into your heart; then bring him to your house to begin doing the job I’ve raised him to do,,, bring more Puppy Joy to your life than you ever dreamed possible!

I’m in love with this sweet boy’s old-fashioned, scruffy dog look and attitude that make for a wonderful family dog. He wears his heart on his sleeve; it shines from his eyes, and he promises to be a lovely small doggie addition to the family. Smart and willing, he’s a compliant-natured little guy, my favorite style of pup for the novices out there.

He’ll be fun and outgoing with the kids, and climb happily into Dad’s lap when he hits the recliner for that big game. When Grandma comes to visit, he’ll bond instantly with her, and they’ll fall madly in love (of course she’ll be handing out lots of treats to help the process along!)

Whether it’s the UPS guy or your grumpy Aunt Martha come to visit, he’ll be a dog welcoming committee; he’ll almost never bark unless something goes bump in the night and he, being the official small guardian of your castle, will let you know- the job of every good dog, by the way.

If allergies are a big problem, I’d point you to one of his curly-headed siblings; he’s got lots of waves coming in but he’ll not be super curly or quite as hypoallergenic as they’ll be. That being said, he’ll still be about 95% non-shed, you’ll see nary a hair as he matures, but he’ll again, not be the best choice if someone has tested specifically allergic to dogs.

Playful, social and cuter than a bug’s ear, another puppy that will capture hearts with his winsome gaze, including mine!

Just the bestest puppy girl! Sally Sorrel is extra affectionate and playful, she’s totally a social butterfly and is convinced that all who meet her simply MUST be in love with her! (They just don’t know it yet!). She’s hard to resist with her big puppy dog eyes, all that white frosting and a riot of golden curls, a puppy picture!

She loves the couch and cuddling is her favorite thing, but she’s equally happy to zoom zoom round the back yard until it’s time to go on the puppy charger and renew her batteries, a feat that she happily repeats all day long lol. A funny Cavapoo character, I promise she’ll charm your socks off before she’s been home 5 minutes. 😘

She’s got that open-hearted disposition that I love, ah, but mixed with a generous portion of trainability and good old fashioned smarts, with the addition of a comical personality that loves to entertain, and you’ve got the perfect candidate for bringing home Puppy Bliss.

She wanted me to be sure and tell everyone that she’s even more scrumptious in person, and that she promises to give puppy kisses and learn to shake paws and roll over so you can show her off to your friends, when you’re this CUTE, knowing a few tricks makes you over the top ADORABLE!!!

Cavachon Puppy Apricot Boy | Sunshiny, Waggy | 16- 18-ish Pounds Grown

So this puppy guy is just too handsome. I’m fairly used to stunning puppies, but Tobias Waggs has the most gorgeous face and expression, a coat like spun silk with layers of caramel and pure white laced through; he is sooooo pretty, and boys shouldn’t really be pretty, should they??? Nonetheless, he indeed is a PUPPY STAR!!!

Ah, but what about his personality, you ask? Equally amazing, my dear Puppy Seeker! He’s a people person, loves kids and human beings of all descriptions with all his puppy heart, the perfect candidate for 2nd dog at your house as he’s not got an Alpha bone in his body, this is just the most easy-going, adaptable puppy you’ll find (though his siblings would disagree, I’m a smidge leaning in his direction as pick of the litter cause he’s so darned easy on the eyes).

The Cavachon is simply unbeatable as a family dog; the Cavalier side of the family brings a soft, sweet nature that is never aggressive or bad-tempered. One of the truly most dependable dispositions I’ve ever seen, and trust me, in this long doggie career, I’ve seen them all. There are so many ways to run off the rails when choosing a dog, but you could safely shut your eyes and pick a Foxglove Farm puppy, be it Cavachon or Cavapoo, and have a dog that completes your family in a way you won’t believe.

“Now here's the funny part: instantly my husband took to her and fell head-over-heels in love with her. We both did. But who wouldn't. She is unlike any other dog I have ever known. She has it all. She lets you hold her like a baby and will actually sleep this way; her tail wags non-stop (even in her sleep at times), she's wicked smart, and was potty trained and learned all of her tricks almost immediately. But what I love most are her endearing eyes; they are a gateway to her warm and loving personality. 

Looking back over the past 2-1/2 years, she has enriched and enhanced our lives so immensely. I can't imagine our lives without her. She IS our four-legged daughter. She goes to work with us each day, travels on the plane with us when we go to our Florida home, and everything in between. We adore her!

I used to think we got soooooo lucky (which I still believe), but my parents now have Callie's cousin, and he is proving that it's not just Callie; there is something very special about the breed and about the way Foxglove handles these precious little bundles before they find their forever home.

Pumpkin, as she’s known here at home, was thrilled to bits when I placed her in the basket for a few photos, closer to a whole stem of cute little pumpkins to go along with her name, and look at those eyes sparkling as she plots the best way to abscond with a few of them for dissecting when Mama Terry wasn’t looking. 👀

Ah, but her cuddly, ever-so-cozy side comes clearly into view the moment she lay down on that fuzzy sunflower blanket (which she says perfectly accentuates her stunning coat, by the way!). The mischief disappears, and in its place is a softness that shows even more of her true character. I can just see her curled up asleep with your toddler, who, by the way, will be over the moon for the new puppy that Mom and Dad finally decided to bring home.

Yep, kids and dogs need each other. And, that being said, if you're puppy shopping, good for you, my friend, but do get an amazing puppy who will complete your family in a way you never dreamed possible. A puppy who comes with loads of common sense and good old-fashioned trainability as standard accessories. Step away from some of the more super high-energy doodles that will take years to grow out of puppyhood, and hurry and put Pumpkin Spice in your cart and secure her before she’s gone, and you’re forced to bring home some clueless canine train wreck that will have you rue the day you decided to get a dog. (I could write a book about those letters!)

She’s doing wonderfully well on all of her puppy lessons; she watches carefully during lesson time, ears tipped forward, listening with all of her puppy might (SO CUTE!). I can just see the wheels turning as she decides that “Yes! The puppy cookies are kept in that drawer, and gooood puppies get extra treats for walking nicely on the leash!”
