Dear Puppy Seekers,
We are in the home stretch with the kitchen; the last (hopefully!) few delays are set to complete this week. John, my darling hubby, is organizing his spice drawers and I’m thanking the Lord for a real honest-to-goodness hood vent!
I’m exhausted! What an ordeal that turned out to be!!! It’s lovely, and I actually have a sink to do dishes in; I never thought I would miss that little number so badly~!

Matilda Jane knows she’s adorable, and she wanted me to be sure to share that information with all you Puppy Seers, so you know it too! A delicious little bundle of snowy curls with a touch of gold, because every princess needs a bit of bling, so I’m told. She’s already picked out her tiny matching harness and lead along with a daisy collar embellished with fake diamonds (well, don’t tell her they’re not real; she’ll think Mama Terry sent the best cause she’s a princess, remember?).
I love packing up our puppy kits; they are truly overstuffed with goodies, including, yes, a collar AND harness and leads for each, because puppies need to have both skillsets; a collar helps a puppy learn proper steering and alternating with a properly fitting harness makes sure a puppy is safe and secure during leash training.
She’s happily learning her manners in the leash training department; she prances around with her tail waving like a banner, then hops up to say, please, please, please hold me! Her favorite thing in the world is being told what a precious puppy she is while being snuggled in someone’s lap, a job she’s more than happy to apply for lol.
Yes, she’s also a stunner. Her coat is silky and full of waves and curls, the perfect texture to keep shedding a non-issue (and your groomer swooning with delight, by the way; groomers love our puppies. A bit of a tomboy, Myrtle Mae is a cheery 🌸 outgoing Cavachon girl who dreams of a wonderful forever family who will spoil her to bits! I was tucking her in bed last night, and she was gazing at me with her big brown eyes, her little mouth smiling, hoping for just one more of her favorite puppy treats, which of course I couldn't resist giving her.

She's sporty and athletic at times, then conks out on the couch with her favorite toy tucked under her chin, where she's happy to stay as long as your HGTV marathon lasts.
In other words, she's adaptable; she'll joyfully follow your lead, and, since she's rather food-motivated, be a quick learner while she waits for the next delivery of livery goodness lol.
She'll be fine in so many settings.
Got kids? She'll be thrilled and spend her days tending to them faithfully.

Captain Cruz is so embarrassed; he was all excited about puppy picture day, and then at the critical moment, he accidentally poked his tongue out just as the camera snapped. Miss Terry thought that was so funny she couldn't resist sharing it with all her Puppy People.
Sigh.
There I am looking goofy with my tongue sticking out for the whole world to see; what's a puppy to do? I tried to make up for it by looking extra extra cute and cuddly in all my other pictures, but I couldn't get her to delete the silly ones; she was laughing so hard she couldn't hear me.
Yes, picture day is lots of fun, at least for some of us people here in Puppyville. I have to admit, I really don’t like having my picture taken, so I sympathize, but I couldn’t overcome the urge to show every side of this comical furball.
I love our Cavapoos; they tend towards the more mellow side of the scale of the Doodles. Oh my goodness, a lovely breed, but some of them don’t grow up until they are seniors, highly energetic and often overly enthusiastic. I do appreciate the gentler, calmer addition of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; bless them, that spanielly softness makes for an entirely different dog; a much more liveable and easy-to-manage canine; yes, they indeed are the perfect dogs!

Yes, my inbox is full to overflowing with letters and comments like that. There is something about the way they look at you; even baby Boscoe, with each one of his pictures, somehow comes across even on a screen with such warmth and earnest love. You find yourself thinking, why have I waited so long to get a puppy? There is nothing like them, I promise you. He looks right into your eyes across the miles and says, “Am I the one? Am I your puppy? I promise to love you with every atom of my being and be the best dog you’ll ever own”.
Exceedingly lovely disposition, he is everything I hope for in a Cavachon, beautiful, open-hearted, by turns comical and playful, then asleep in your lap, snoring just a bit, and bringing so much warmth and companionship that somehow your life is complete in a way that you didn’t even realize you were lacking.

Saltwater Sweetheart 🏖️
The middle girl in this litter of extra-adorable Cavachon babies, Honeybun as she’s known here at home, is a gorgeous honey-colored puppy with a super sweet disposition to go along with her name.
She’s warm-hearted and a bit of a mother hen; she’s decided that the tiny tot in the group, Sammy Seashell, needs looking after, so she has made that her own particular job. Sadly, Sammy is a bit of a hoodlum and steals her toys, tries to take her share of the treats, and generally takes full advantage of her motherly ways, lol. She still dotes on him; in her eyes, he can do no wrong, so I have to be sure to rescue her toys and her treats from the little bandit; never a dull moment in Puppyville!
All that to say she’s a kindly natured puppy, still a puppy for certain, with occasional outbursts of the zoomies, but for the most part she prefers perching on someone’s lap, tending to anyone’s boo boos or generally nurturing her family, be they two or four-footed.
She’s the perfect choice if you’re looking for a loyal and faithful doggie companion to accompany you as you go on your daily rounds. Please don't pick her if you won't be around much to spoil her; she's definitely a people person, and her happy place will be with her people; just try not to spoil her too much- easier said than done, I promise you! Oh little Mr. Personality, Sammy is convinced that the world indeed is his oyster and that everyone he meets is head over heels in love with him, and I have to agree, he is SO CUTE!!! If you’ve been on the hunt for a teeny Cavapoo companion, hurry and put him in your cart before someone else does, he’s as rare as buried treasure, tiny little character!
Convinced that he was a swashbuckling pirate in another life, he swaggers along like a big dog, all 3 & 1/2 pounds of him lol. Prepare to be entertained, snuggled with, to dazzle your dog-loving friends and neighbors and generally cause puppy pandemonium when he arrives. He’s never met a stranger and adores all creatures great and small.
His coat is a bit slow coming in, but it will arrive in grand style as he matures. See the curls all along the tips of his ears? He’ll be slightly more Cavalier in style until he gets older, then like our Hastings, he should have a cascade of fluffy ringlets, making him even more ridiculously adorable than he already is!
Fair warning, he’s a busy little bee, and in true puppy fashion will prance and pounce and patty-cake his way into your life and before you know it, you’ll proclaim that you don’t know how you ever lived without your diminutive little sidekick.
Enjoy his pictures,,, don't you love how he cuts his eyes at the camera, making sure I caught all his best angles. The camera does love him no doubt, his sparkling tricolor coat gleams with that extra splash that the Cavapoo in imparts. His blue merle daddy is responsible for that extra dazzle, and depth of pigment, yes, he is an exceedingly handsome canine companion in the making!

Stealer of Alligators. Cuddler with Kids 👶 👦 🧒
He’s a rather winsome puppy, though he does occasionally morph into a toy-thief when his sisters aren’t looking. They will innocently be playing tug-a-war with their beloved purple alligator (he’s long and slinky and has googly eyes that they are helpfully trying to remove 😂 ), and out of nowhere, leaping small teeter-totters in a single bound, here comes Toby Tugboat!
Pounce! Mr Alligator is gone in a flash, and Toby is doing a triumphant victory lap which lasts all of about 30 seconds before “the girls” shriek in alarm and race after the small pirate to rescue their darling.
This most entertaining little drama is repeated with various stuffed animals but with always the same outcome: the girls stomping off in puppy indignation and Toby in a mope because they won’t play with him and prefer alligators to perfectly good little brothers.
Yes, he would love some children of his very own to pal around with; he’d be happy to share his toys with those persnickety sisters out of the way! Of course, Mama Terry will send two very nice animals of the stuffed variety in his puppy kit to get everyone started off on the right paw.

Because I'm so passionate about the difference a great puppy makes, I know how to raise not only stunningly beautiful Cavachons and Cavapoos but puppies that because I put the extra time in to be sure the puppy you purchase will settle into their home as quickly and easily as possible.
I call them "Starter Puppies," usually 11 to 12 weeks old before they leave, making for a puppy who is mature enough to be crate trained when he arrives, sleeps through the night, and old enough to potty train quickly. You won't miss anything with a puppy that's a couple of weeks older, unless getting up at 3:00 am is high on your list of puppy wants! I don't let puppies go too early, it makes things so much easier for the new owner when puppies are just a tad more mature.
I want a healthy Cavachon (and a good dog breeder should want that for her puppy people too!)
Because we raise only hybrids, a blending of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon or Poodle, your chances of getting a puppy who is sound and healthy are much increased. We have worked for years to gather healthy bloodlines from around the world to avoid issues like mitral valve disease which is so common in the Cavalier but happily, it is more difficult for Cavalier offspring who are not purebred to inherit that problem. The same is true for hip dysplasia and other health problems found all too often in most pure breeds of dogs. We do OFA testing and do our utmost to ensure that our puppies are born from healthy, happy parents of course. Testing isnt a guarantee though. I have seen even dogs with clear tests produce puppies with inherited problems when we raised purebred dogs many years ago, which is why I no longer raise AKC registered dogs, only hybrid Cavalier King Charles Spaniels who have a much greater likelihood of having a long healthy life.
A cavachon or cavapoo puppy from Foxglove Farm will have had the best supplements from birth.
All of our dogs are given daily probiotics and supplements like NuVet Plus. I feel it's absolutely vital to help young puppies have a strong immune system, not only to prevent disease but to help them thrive in spite of vaccinations and other stressors common to young puppies.
Vaccinations and deworming are up to date. However, I recommend a cautious approach to some of the harsher vaccines, like Leptospirosis, which has been shown to have a high rate of reactions in sensitive dogs.
I recommend a cautious approach to excess vaccines in your puppy as the most prudent course. My background in veterinary medicine is combined with a more holistic approach in caring for the puppies I raise and the recommendations I give my puppy buyers on how to thoughtfully care for their new puppy in a more natural way that is safer for them and for their families.
For example, Here’s an excerpt from a series I wrote called Mistakes Pet Owners Make; it discusses the dangers of neutering your puppy too quickly and why waiting for neutering to about 12 to 14 months (for a Cavapoo or Cavachon is a good idea).
“Current research points to many excellent reasons to delay neutering your pet until it has matured and its growth plates have had time to close. Early neutering (which is typically as early as 5 months of age) is being blamed for the rapid rise of joint disease and the explosion in the number of joint surgeries.”
My goal is that my Puppy People have a lifetime of happy years with their new puppy, be it a Cavachon or a Cavapoo, and that puppy is a joy and a delight for many, many years to come. I hear from our past puppy buyers on a daily basis that our oldest “puppies” are commonly 16 and even 17 years of age!
