Those tall white booties! That blaze! The little coppery ears!

There are sweet puppies.

And then there are puppies named Sweet Potato Pie, which rather raises expectations from the beginning.

Fortunately, this scrumptious little Cavapoo girl appears entirely capable of living up to her name.

Sweet Potato Pie is a particularly toothsome combination of the richest mahogany & white curls, soulful dark eyes, and the most ridiculous pair of tall white front booties I’ve seen in quite some time. They look as though she got dressed for Puppy Picture Day and pulled her stockings up especially high because company was coming.

And just like her sister Peek-A-Boo, Sweet Potato Pie is blessed with a lovely, naturally agreeable disposition. She's sweet-natured, affectionate, and generally quite happy to cooperate with the humans rather than spending her waking hours attempting to overthrow them.

But Sweet Potato Pie has just a pinch more pizazz tucked underneath all that goodness.

There's a little sparkle in this girl. A little what's over there? A little perhaps we should investigate. She's playful and curious, with enough puppy sass to keep life interesting, but not so much that you'll find yourself standing in the kitchen at 10:00 p.m. Googling “Can puppies be sent to military school?”

She's the happy middle ground.

Sweet enough to cuddle.

Playful enough to make you laugh.

Good enough to make you proud.

And just spicy enough to make sure nobody gets bored.

During her photo session, she seemed perfectly willing to indulge me in all my autumn foolishness, posing among pumpkins, flowers, and assorted tiny farm creatures with those magnificent white boots planted neatly beneath her. And goodness, did she photograph beautifully.

But then again, Sweet Potato Pie seems to understand something important:

When you're this cute, you really don't have to work very hard.

For the family looking for a smaller Cavapoo girl with a tender heart, an affectionate nature, and just the right little dash of personality, Sweet Potato Pie might be awfully hard to resist.

She's sugar and spice and everything nice...

with perhaps one extra shake of the spice jar.

And frankly?
