Every cowboy needs a trusty sidekick, and Boomer Jack might just be the cutest one to ever set foot on the Foxglove prairie. Can you believe that stuffed chicken friend tucked under his little arm? And that smug chicken-loving expression on his funny face? He loved being the center of attention; big shiny cameras don’t bother him one bit, he’s overflowing with charm, ridiculously adorable, and he knows it!

Don’t fret, he’s happy to hop off the couch and trot off into his next adventure — cowboy boots and palomino pony in tow. I can see him in just about any setting, an unflappable kind of puppy, he’ll adore gentle kids (and be playful enough to keep them smiling). However, if you’re in the market for a gorgeous puppy guy to tag along as you work through your Christmas list, he’ll be an equally good fit there.

That’s the beauty of the Cavachons, adaptable and affectionate, they intuitively know the energy of each setting. If it's couch time, they couldn't be happier to agree, but if the sun is shining and the backyard is calling, they can Sprint after squirrels, probably never catching any, but certainly having fun in the Endeavor.

Baby Buckaroo is just waiting for his own little cowboy to ride the range with; he’s an adaptable small soul and will fit in happily, be it in a Pennsylvania backyard or a sunny condo in Florida (which will sound especially good come January!). ☀️ 🏖️ 🌊 He’s sporty and outgoing but winds down quickly into couch mode so if you’re hoping for a more laid-back sort of dog, you’ve landed on just the right breed.

With the Cavachon’s innate good sense and people-loving personality, he’s an easy fit for just about any humble abode. He’s silly and playful by turns, then so sleepy he can’t lift a paw until he recharges his puppy batteries with a nice long nap. Nicely middle of the road in energy, no non-stop energizer bunnies here, yes, he’ll figure out the lay of the land in record time and win the hearts of the entire family before you can say Puppy Chow!

A thoughtful little guy, he’ll welcome kindly kids with open paws and lots of puppy kisses. Already have a lonely canine who needs a buddy? Buckaroo doesn’t have an ounce of Alpha in his little body and says to tell everyone he’ll happily play second fiddle to your current canine or feline, for that matter. By the way, Cavachons and Cavapoos, as well, make stellar cat companions; they think EVERYONE whom they meet cannot wait to be BFF’s! (Don’t tell your kitty, he’ll find out soon enough!).

Little Joe is the softest, most charming little rascal you’ll ever meet — equal parts cuddler and adventurer. One minute, he’s your shadow, the next, he’s off investigating a tumbleweed. Just mischievous enough to keep everyone on their toes, after all, isn't that part of the charm of a new puppy? Don't worry, these Cavachon kiddos won't push you over the brink. Now, if we were talking chocolate labs here, it would be a totally different story, lol.

Heads up, Puppy People, we won't have any more Blenheim puppies this year, probably none ready to go home until around Valentine's Day, so don't miss this litter of five. Once they're gone, they're gone! One of my favorite colors and one that I believe is tied to the softest disposition in the Cavachon. Still full of personality and smarts, but under that little Blenheim noggin resides more of the temperament of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, at least that's true in my experience.

Ah, so now that my opinion is out of the way, ye ask, which should I choose? Well, puppyhood is a short time in the scheme of things, and if your heart is set on one of those chocolatey Sable babies or a Cavapoo redhead, rest assured that you'll get to the same place after the puppy journey is complete. 

The Sables might be a bit more convinced that rules don't apply to them lol I think they can tell they're an unusual color and are quite pleased with themselves as a result. The Cavapoos, on the other hand, are a delight, perhaps a bit busier as puppies, but still perfectly content on the couch even before they grow up. I'm definitely splitting hairs here, and at the end of the day, go with your heart and whichever puppy jumps off the page and says, “I’m Yours!” 😘

Cavachon Puppy Blenheim Boy | Winsome & Waggy | Loves Toys (a LOT) | GORGEOUS | 12 - 14

You wouldn’t think it, looking at his big-eyed expression in his photos, but this is the jolliest little waggy-tailed boy, yes, tending toward puppy marshmallow status, but a jolly marshmallow if that makes sense (which it totally doesn’t lol!). Anyway, even though he doesn't think a lot of my big Canon camera, 5 minutes after his photos were done, he was trotting happily across the floor with the newest toy sensation heartthrob, Mr. Green Alligator (with real fake webbed feet!) firmly gripped in his tiny jaws!

I told him that he could have chosen the beautiful palomino pony for his sidekick instead, to stay with the theme, mind you, but being a boy, he was totally NOT interested in decorating of any kind, so MGA it was instead 😂

Don’t you love his expression, though? He was posing with all his puppy might for his pictures, such a dear little guy. He tried so hard to stay perfectly still, turning one way and another, just like he wanted to be sure all of his pictures were perfect. He’s going to make a most affectionate addition to your life, the perfect blend of occasional puppy sillies, combined with a pet who will make it his job to bring Puppy Joy to every new day.

Truly lovely coat and color, loads of curls already promising a Puppy Star on grooming day. By the way, our puppies are beloved by groomers everywhere with good reason. From the time they are tiny tots, they learn about baths and brushing, teeny nail trims, and most importantly, that the hair-drying part of grooming is warm and cozy and nothing to be worried about. All of this makes for a puppy who arrives at their first grooming appointment, well-versed in those essential skills, and even a dog that grows up to enjoy being beautified!

Taffy Jo is already wonderfully people-focused, soft-natured, abundantly showing that Cavachon intuition that makes early training a breeze. This girl will be an easy favorite for families wanting a cheerful, adaptable companion. She’ll play mother hen to your littles, play fetch with that 16-year-old who thinks she’s 25 (who still needs a canine companion, I promise you!)—a most loving and loyal puppy girl in the making.

A bit bigger than her siblings (with the exception of chubby-pawed Stetson), she’s still perfectly portable and will make a most attractive sidekick for those roadtrips you keep promising the family you’re going to take. Cavachons travel so well, completely happy to be with their people, whether it’s in the camper headed to the great outdoors or tucked in their very own cushy carseat traveling to grannie’s for Thanksgiving dinner.

If you’ve been hoping for a puppy who can match your quieter moments but still join in the fun, Taffy Jo is an excellent pick. She won’t need hours of exercise to keep her puppy zanies at a minimum; she’ll plop down periodically to recharge her puppy batteries, and you’ll smile and make a cup of tea for a puppy break of your own. Plan on having several doggie beds strategically placed for her lounging enjoyment; she does love a nice long nap!

Don’t miss these adorable Blenheim babies by the way, they are the last for a while! I do love this color and the temperament that goes along with it, the most reminiscent of my beloved, affectionate, and sweet-tempered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but minus all that shedding, the perfect canine combination!

So, Cocoa Clyde said he wants everyone to know that he did NOT pick the ridiculously oversized pink floral bow and had no idea that he was going to have to pose in such girly duds until the last minute, when it was too late to run to the store and get him a proper cowboy hat! He's worried that everyone will think he's a sissy, but I promised to tell you all, but he is brave and smart and funny and yes indeed, all boy from the tip of his black button nose to the end of his fluffy white tipped tail!

Ready to roam the prairie and tag along happily on any and all family adventures. He's brave and waggy-tailed and extra friendly with all creatures great and small. Gosh, these guys are still the best-kept secret in the dog world. While the rest of the Doodles take front and center stage, I'm still head over heels in love with what I call the better Doodle. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel adds smarts and sweetness and yes, a little more canine calmness to the recipe, making for a much more manageable and trainable Doodly companion, I promise you.

Yes, I’m all for hypoallergenic dogs (none are completely that, but these come close!), but along with coat qualities, let’s remember that no matter how cute a puppy is, if he grows up to be a 50-pound, eternal adolescent, suddenly, having a dog is not nearly as much fun as you had hoped.

These Cavalier hybrids mature very quickly, navigating through puppyhood in months instead of years. Before you know it, you will have accomplished house training and all the basic education needed to make your new doggy addition to the family a solid citizen instead of a harem-scarem, always-on-go, headache of a family dog. Sorry, I do get letters!

Back to our good dog Clyde, of the unfortunate pinkish-hued bow. He’ll make the best kind of family dog, whimsical and wise, yes, he’ll have lots of puppy sillies but from day one, they’ll be tempered with lots of snuggle time, and an affectionate nature that promises he’ll do his best to learn his lessons quickly and make you exceedingly glad that you found him and Foxglove Farm at the beginning of your puppy seeking journey.

Poor lil Gus McCoy is hoping he’s not headed for Puppy Alcatraz, (that’s what the puppies call crate time 😂, and he promises he only thought about chewing on his new goat friend and really would have been happy with just a nibble if he’d known that goat friends were not on the approved puppy chew toy list! How was he to know?

Oh, with an adorable face like that, all small misdemeanors are quickly forgiven and unchewable goats quickly replaced with nylabones and other more suitable puppy pacifiers. Getting a puppy? Avail yourself of my extensive puppy supply list my dear Puppy Peeps and be prepared for any such outbreaks of enthusiastic teething tendencies!

Another oldish soul in this litter, in spite of his hankering after stuffed toys (we send extras home with our well-stocked puppy kits by the way). Puppies do love a nice assortment of toys, some soft, some chewable, some that make thrilling noises when scrunched,,, keeping little fold entertained is easy with a fully stocked toy basket.

The perfect blend of sweet cuddle-bug and little ranch rascal. He loves scooting close for snuggles, tucking his warm nose under your chin, and soaking up every bit of affection. But he’s also the first to invite a littermate to play, pouncing with that happy puppy bounce that makes everyone laugh. I can see him being a good fit lots of different settings, from empty nesters who are ready for a little puppy excitement to bring those grandkids flocking home, to the urban couple who want to practice with a puppy before adding two-footed small ones to the mix. Such a great puppy, I’m thinking he’ll be in a dozen carts and on his way home long before Santa’s sleigh has time to pick him up!

So Wyatt is currently not speaking to Mama Terry. He's a little put out that somehow he ended up at the bottom of the puppy totem pole, and the Blenheim boys were posted before he was, when obviously he is the most exceedingly handsome in the litter! I’m guilty as charged, and I might have to agree that yep,,, he’s a strong contender for the PICK OF THE LITTER! ✨ 🌟 💫

Whew! (he’ll be so happy when he reads that!).

Aw, but of course, handsome is as handsome does, and I’ll give this boy five stars in that department, too. He’s still a work in progress, but he tries really hard to please, the mark of a compliant (read easy to raise) puppy. Not perfect by any means, but he’ll be a delight to raise even on the days he has extra puppy heebie jeebies stored up! (Remember Puppy People, “A tired puppy is a good puppy!”). Exercise is your most important training tool; liberal doses for little puppies will work wonders for everything from a puppy who naps nicely throughout the day and sleeps right through the night, I promise.

I’ve shared the path to training success a zillion times in my doggie career, but it is one of the cornerstones of New Puppy 101 and your superpower when it comes to raising a puppy properly. That and of course, starting with a Foxglove puppy will work wonders in your journey to a sweet, sensible canine companion.

A bit of an old soul until she remembers that she’s only 11 weeks old and the puppy toy box is FULL of the most wonderful TOYS, and if she hurries, she can nab the new moo cow slinky before her sister spies it, and the puppy race is on!

Ah, but not to worry, after a few loops around the yard with her siblings in hot pursuit, she’s all about finding the nearest couch (being a couch potato in disguise) and having a nice long snooze to recharge her puppy batteries.

Of course, my recipe, dear Puppy Peeps, is this: repeat after me, “A tired puppy is a GOOD PUPPY!” Truer words were never spoken! Oh, what a good boy our Billie Walker is, ( and yes, hubby John has already informed me that I should have spelled it BILLY, I just thought it was so cute BILLIE, sigh), I do get carried away with my puppy names, I was having such fun with my little doggies and their western theme,,, Billie does’t mind, he’ll answer to anything as long as their are cookies involved lol.

All fluffy and furry coated outside with a genuinely old-fashioned best boy goodness on the inside, he’s a sporty little number, but don’t worry, he’s equally happy cozied up in someone’s lap. He says to tell everyone he hopes he’s home in time for Thanksgiving cause he’s heard all about that turkey stuff and he cannot wait to have a bite!

I do love my dear little Cavapoos; they make such great family dogs. Honest-hearted with such loving natures, not a pinch of meanness in any of them, which cannot be said of many dogs by the way. They are simply without harm, such a lovely trait for a dog to have ❤️

Cavachon Puppy Sable & White Boy | Lil Mischief Maker | Friend of Goats | 12 - 14 Pounds Grown

I'm convinced the puppies are hopeful that all their shiny-eyed toys are actually waiting to come to life just so they can play with them! 🧸 Look at Johnny Ringo, gazing soulfully up at his goat friend and compadre. You can see the little wheels turning as he thoughtfully ponders. I didn't catch it on camera, but there was a lot of intense staring nose to nose, trying to see if Mr. Goat was just being coy and would at any moment begin to hop around and act like a proper goat, lol.

This boy is a smidge smaller than his brothers, but he’s big on personality and charm (and the cuteness factor!). He’s friendly and outgoing, always happy to meet new people, and pretty much unflappable; he knows everyone is anxious to tell him how scrumptious he is, how could they resist that small face?

If you’ve never had a dog, getting a Cavachon is a great option. They come already assembled with all the love a small dog can contain, trainability and sweetness surpassed by none (though their Cavapoo cousins would disagree!). After a couple of decades raising just these two breeds, I am convinced there are no better choices, especially for novice dog owners. My Puppy People return over and over to add another Foxglove puppy to their families and stoutly proclaim they’d never get a dog anywhere else, high praise indeed, and this dog breeder is most grateful for the lovely folks who have found us since the early days. I’m even more passionate about these small dogs than ever, they are the best canine companions on the 🌎

Okay, so I can't believe it, Puppy Peeps. I just changed my playlist and have officially rolled over to Christmas. Bing Crosby is crooning in the background, and the sugar plums are starting to dance in my head. I’m pondering whether I can mention dragging the Christmas tree up from its slumbering place in the basement, but hubby John started to hyperventilate when he heard Bing, so perhaps I’ll wait a day or so to let him get into the mood, too! 🎅 🎄 ❄️

Sigh, I have controlled myself in the puppy department as well. These little cowpokes have strayed decidedly away from the pumpkin extravaganza I had going on, and drifted into cowboy country in the meantime 🐴 👢 🤠 That darling chocolate pony with her blue bow!,,, and those teensy boots all dolled up in faux ostrich! I am truly incorrigible, but it is so much fun dreaming up accessories and themes, a veritable stampede of cowboy cuteness!

I almost called this Cavachon boy Marshall Dillion, he’s so sturdy and dependable, the kind of puppy who will remain unflappable when the fur starts flying lol. He wants me to be sure and explain that he’ll happily canter around after the kids, too; all that dependable stuff doesn’t mean that he also can’t unbend and be silly and playful, too.

A bit on the larger side of all things Cavachon, I’m putting him at the upper end of the litter. He might fool me, but probably not. That broad muzzle and those bear paws are good indicators of a more miniature vs toy puppy, so if hubby is lobbying for a slightly larger canine companion, steer him towards this puppy and maybe he’ll finally say YES to the kids pleas for a puppy before they go off to college!

Josie Pie will steal your heart so quickly that even your nay-saying hubby will soon be bragging that your new addition is the smartest puppy on the planet; she’ll make it her job to win hearts the moment she steps a paw inside your humble abode and prove to everyone that getting a puppy was the best idea you ever had lol. This little girl is perfectly capable of charming the socks off of everyone in the family, including your grumpy 18-pound cat, who might surprise everyone by deciding that his new BFF has curly red hair!

Yes, she's irresistible, not just because she's so pretty she'll have to be added to your Christmas cards so you can show her off. But, because on the inside she truly has a heart of gold and a sweet, loving personality that will make you so glad you ended up with a Foxglove Farm puppy instead of one of the more manic Doodles you could have gotten.

Of course, puppies are playful, and she will have the zoomies once or twice a day, and you’ll enjoy them every bit as much as she does. There's nothing more entertaining than a furry little creature running full tilt through the house with a dinosaur in her mouth to suddenly cause the most stoic anti-puppy spouse to fall head over heels in love with little cuteness. I have literally laughed until I cried at puppy antics, and we could all use a daily dose of that kind of medicine 😆

Ain’t she sweet!? Our blissfully pretty Pittypat is convinced that the stork delivered her to the wrong litter. Why should she have to share her toys with her brothers, anyway? she asks. Puddin’ Pie says to inform her sister that she’s not the only scrumptious little morsel on the planet but Pittypat is NOT listening! I carefully explain to each of them that there are plenty of toys for everyone to choose a favorite, and yes, that learning to share is good for puppy souls.

Though she dreams of wearing glittering collars and bandanas covered in sparkles, this Cavachon cutie has an exceedingly loving heart, and I see a future as a family dog supreme. She’ll happily ride around in a baby buggy if your littlest daughter so desires, then play study-buddy alongside your teen as he wrestles with the last of his homework.

She adores the entire human race. Her tail wags with joy the moment she greets a visitor. No grumpy canines in the world of Cavachons, I promise you; they are social butterflies all! The perfect puppy if you’re looking for a friend to bring a bit of spice to your senior dog’s life. There’s nothing like a youngster to take years off a dog who’s gotten too attached to his bed. For that matter, if your recliner too often calls your name, the addition of a spunky pup pup can turn back the clock for you as well!

Oh, this Cavapoo baby pumpkin! Isn’t she just the most precious little creature ever? That teeny tiny face with the perfect white blaze and a riot of curls, she’ll win over even your dog-adverse Uncle Charles and have him asking you to bring her over for a visit lol.

She steals hearts wherever she goes, complete strangers ooh and all over her (which she loves, by the way; she knows how irresistible she is and is happy to share herself with her adoring public). Indeed, a social butterfly in the making.

Ah, but fear not, she’s also full of pep and spirit and thinks she’s a great big dog, fully capable of sending the neighbor’s pesky cat packing or dealing with any chipmunks that need chasing away from your yard. (Hastings and I are of two minds about chipmunks; he happily gallops in vain, trying to catch one, I put peanuts out for them!).

The great thing about even a diminutive little girl like this one is that she's fully capable of sounding the alarm in the wee hours of the morning if your castle ever needs guarding. I'm not a fan of barky dogs, but oh my goodness, it's a comfort to have a dog that sleeps with one eye open just in case the boogeyman makes an appearance! (Reason #217 on why you need a dog of your very own 😆 ).

Well, let me back up, she’ll sound the alarm, then she’ll charm the socks off any potential burglars and make them mend their ways with her cuteness overload. Speaking of which, notice the silly picture I took of the very tip of her tail? Please don’t let your groomer ever trim it off; it’s perfect!

Indigo Pearl is our seaside treasure, wrapped in soft sky-blue swirls and purest white accents. She’s soft, sparkly, and always ready for a nap on your lap after a morning of curiosity, playful and entertaining, but born with a snuggler’s soul 💙

I’m besotted with this color, my newest favorite, of course! I’m amazed at the lovely shades of this wonderful BLUE that appear in each of my merle babies.
