Someone we know with floppy little ears and shiny white booties was working on his crate training today and decided that it wasn’t quite so bad as long as he had lots of toys and a Kong stuffed with yummy snacks. He had a fun reward after all his hard work and spent the afternoon zooming back and forth after his littermates. I found the cutest colorful toss rings and gave half a dozen to them, and couldn’t believe the games that bright Cavapoo puppy minds can dream up with the simplest toys. Cider Boots managed to step inside one of the rings, and it made a most convenient handle for everyone to lead him around with. Things are never dull in Puppyville!

Otis Appleby is vying for the prize for the most easygoing of all the puppies, and today he gained a few points. At naptime, he came back inside and promptly snuggled up next to one of the favorites from his toy stash (Mr. Fox is EVERYONE’s new favorite!) and soon, he was snoring ever so slightly with paws twitching, dreaming I’m sure, that he was leading the pack triumphantly in a race around the backyard.

I haven’t decided 100% though, they go back and forth, Cider Boots is a close second, then they swap places and I’m convinced that Autumn Belle gets the blue ribbon (but wait, what about Applejack)? Such good little people, they all have their moments to shine in the best puppy spotlight, but I have to say they do have such lovely temperaments; they look right into your eyes with tails awag, and paws extended to shake hands, such sweet little munchkins, no wonder I love Cavapoos!

With his copper-red curls, bright white boots, and that little blaze of snowy sweetness down his nose, Applejack looks like he’s dressed and ready to head out to your local pumpkin patch! I can just see him with a green plaid flannel harness (SO CUTE) prancing along on the end of the lead like a big dog.

One moment romping through the yard like he’s training for the Puppy Olympics and flopped across the couch in full marshmallow mode the next. Sporty and fun, but oh my goodness, he does love a big fuzzy blanket, and next to his people on the couch is his idea of Puppy Bliss 🤎

This boy has a soft heart and a major cuddle agenda. He’ll happily fall asleep with his head on your slipper, or go down for a nap with your littles, if you want an extra-social and sweet-natured family dog, he’s just waiting to fill that empty place with more love than you think a little dog could be capable of giving.

Like one mom told me years ago, “This puppy has added so many layers of love to our family!”

Isn’t it amazing that simply bringing home such a small creature can change the dynamics of your home in so many marvelous ways? While I'm thinking of puppy stories, I received a video last week of the most precious little girl receiving her new puppy and bursting into tears of joy. And the puppy in her arms? Looking at the camera, and into my heart, all these miles away, with a gaze so contented and already filled with adoration for his new little owner, what a happy ending to that story, and what joy for this dog breeder to be part of making that dream come true.

I hope you can appreciate how much fun this little darling was having on puppy picture day last week! She took one look at Mama Terry's carefully curated Autumn Extravaganza and decided that no one would mind if she helped herself to a few of the most interesting items. 

The poor little beagle ended up on his nose with her gnawing on his tail. That cute wooden garland, she decided, made an attractive boa, and she would have worn it off outside if I hadn't rescued it from her! You get the idea, she's loaded with personality and so ridiculously adorable that it will be very hard not to spoil her to bits.

She hasn't a mean bone in her little body, totally loving and affectionate with the sweetest way of patting her front paws at you. 

Pat, Pat, Pat, she goes waving first one tiny foot and then the other, no bigger than a minute, but with don't tell her, she'll want to visit with the neighbor’s Golden Retriever so she can show him all her new toys. Because certainly, whoever brings her home is going to have a stack of them waiting for her!

There’s just something about this puppy that makes me smile every time I look at him. He is SUCH a good puppy, with this winsome way about him that captures my heart. When all the puppies are tumbling around after a toy, he gives me this look like some old grampa dog and says, “What can you expect, Mom, they’re just babies!” I mean, really? What puppy does that???

Yes, I’m over the moon for his stunning looks. He’s a knockout in puppy form for sure; all those silvery white markings make him exceptionally handsome. Okay, I LOVE lots of “chrome” on my Cavapoos! It sets them apart, and while I also love the golden velvety brown puppies, and they too have a special charm, these “Boston” marked puppies make my heart sing!

And, so, you’ve got several puppies to choose from in Cavapoos (at the time of this writing, when I’m still posting the litter 😊). Honestly, you could shut your eyes and pick one and have a marvelous puppy. 

They all have such delightful dispositions, and each one of them is beautiful. I'm hard-pressed to pick a favorite. I always tell people to shut their eyes and think of the puppies they are pondering, which one, if you saw a “FOUND HOME” banner pop up, would be the one that you suddenly knew you wanted!?

(If I were longing for a Cavapoo, this might be the one for me, that face!).

Poor lil Mosey! He’s in a bit of a mope, the last puppy to be posted, and he says, “How in the world did that happen when it’s obvious that I’m so adorable I should be up at the top of the page?”

Yep, he is pretty darn adorable, all dressed up in his best with a fancy velvet bow. And he’s not just cuteness personified on the outside, he’s an earnest little guy who sometimes fails but has the very best of intentions. (He did not mean to chew the nose off of Mr Fox, it just somehow happened before he realized it and he was really really sorry and promised never to remove any noses from his toys in the future!).

He really tries to be a good puppy; he’ll happily watch the leaves fall with you, then he’s fast asleep in your lap, sighing like a little old man. Oh, but let a squirrel dare to steal a few of your precious acorns, and Mosey will help you send him packing to the neighbor’s yard where they don’t care so much about acorns lol.

Sweet as pumpkin pie 🥧 with a heart of pure gold, the perfect puppy fit for just about any setting. He’s a kid magnet, just waiting to go to the next soccer game with the family so that he can cheer from the sidelines. Or if your mom has been longing for a canine companion for ages, what a wonderfully welcome surprise this boy would be. He has a loyal heart just waiting for a place to call 🏡 .

Oh, this little mischief, most of the time she’s the perfect little old lady of a puppy, but then she remembers that she's only 11 weeks old, and by Jiminy, she'd better go see if there are any squirrels in the backyard that need sorting out! She'll zip around for 15 minutes, triumphantly circling the yard with tail wagging high, then she trots back inside to her bed and plops down for a snooze because, don’t you know, all that squirrel chasing works up an appetite for a nice nap!

She’s all puppy, with the sweetest puppy fragrant breath you can imagine, a pert little nose that insists that you need kissing right on your face if you give her half a chance lol. Just the most affectionate bundle of puppy charm and snuggles that you could wish for.

Smallish, but a brave and outgoing soul who will weave her way into your life and make you wish she could stay a puppy forever. She is an absolute darling and even more adorable in person! That fluffy coat, those snowy boots, she knows how irresistible she is I promise you! Please try not to spoil her to bits, it will be hard!

Oh, everyone knows I love my Tricolor Cavachons; they are the brightest and easiest to train, with a keen sense of humor that will make you laugh out loud every day. 😂 We are reduced to spelling the word C-O-O-K-I-E in front of our Hastings, and now he’s figured out that ploy, so we’re forced to hide the cookies in the top drawer and sneak one when he isn’t looking! Don’t worry, we do share a bite unless they have chocolate in them. You won’t believe this, but if we tell him he can’t have a bite because they have CHOCOLATE, he sighs and lies down and doesn’t ask again, poor guy!

All of this just to help you understand what fun a brilliant canine companion can be, even if you do have to hide the cookie jar 🍪

Have I rhapsodized lately about my Blenheim Cavachons? They’ve been a bit few and far between lately with all of our marvelous colors making an appearance this summer, but fear not, they always hold a special place in my heart.

To explain further, the Blenheim is the color pattern and name that originates from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. That golden overlay on a pearly white background is the most reminiscent of the CKCS. Many of these Blenheim Cavachons even inherit the golden thumbprint on their foreheads. Legend has it that it was the mark of favor from the Queen. If you look carefully at the photo of Sally Crumb with her nose touching the paisley throw, you’ll see a small mark, about the size of a thumbprint, on the top of her head. Some puppies have a perfectly defined circle, but most have this smudge of color, and I smile every time I see it 🐶

The Cavachon is also blessed with the Cavalier’s delightful personality, gentle, loving, and sporty, with the wonderfully comical nature of the Bichon (and non-shedding coat) that makes for a truly perfect canine companion.

Sally is chock-full of true Cavachon temperament, brave and outgoing, yet abundantly happy to be by your side. She’ll make an exceedingly beautiful and most devoted family dog, and what fun that she’ll bring the fragrance of legends, castles, and a pinch of history wherever she goes 🏰

Oh, that darling face, a tiny bit woebegone, she’s not entirely sure about my big shiny camera, I must admit, I’ve never been a fan of having my picture taken either, ah, but when you’re this photogenic (unlike Mama Terry!), you simply must share your adorable little redheaded self with the world!

She’s such a beauty, and being late posting puppy bios, I’ve already had several inquiries and folks waiting to pounce the moment her details appear. Don’t miss her, she’s the stuff puppy dreams are made of, I promise. A cuddle bunny who also loves to romp and play, she’ll bring loads of sunshine when she arrives and make it her mission to love her people with all the love her puppy heart can muster, I promise.

I have a new favorite color with each litter, but how can you not be smitten with this deep, rich mahogany? Tiny golden highlights glimmer here and there, and those precious curls at the tips of her beautiful spanielly ears, she is a picture indeed! Silky coat promises to be not only allergy-friendly, but also easy to groom. Your slicker brush will glide right through, and I’ve found this texture coat to be simple to manage at home. Ah, but that being said, find yourself a talented groomer to do her up every couple of months, and she’ll turn heads everywhere you take her!

Speaking of turning heads, I heard from Marlene in California this morning, she’s the new mama to our Velvet Brown (one of the most gorgeous canine creatures on the planet, by the way!). Anyway, Marlene called to tell me that a woman approached her the other day, and said that she actually wasn’t a dog lover (imagine that!), but that her daughter was looking for a dog and that “Mikayla” was one of the most beautiful dogs she’d ever seen. “She took loads of pictures and of course I gave her all your contact info!”, she might become a dog lover yet lol!”

Just saying Puppy People, if you end up with one of our small treasures at the end of the leash, be prepared for complete strangers to stop you on the street and demand that you answer all sorts of questions 🤭 From “What kind of dog is she, to WHERE DID YOU GET HER???”, Foxglove Farm puppies grow up to become the center of doggie attention, no matter where they end up!

Cavachon Puppy Blenheim Boy | Old Soul | Squishy Golden Boy | 16-ish Pounds Grown

So, while Waldo Crumb’s sister Tilly Acorn thought having her pictures taken was more fun than the law allowed, Waldo took one look and immediately decided that he’d much, MUCH rather go take a nap or maybe get a nail trim, anything would be better than having to pose with all that girlie Fou Fou stuff and look silly. He’s a BOY DOG, thank you very kindly!

He grudgingly posed for me, turning this way and that, occasionally giving me a reproachful look, gazing sadly out the window at the teeter-totter, hinting that there were undoubtedly more fun things to do with his afternoon. Finally, I bribed him with a bunny toy that I knew he adored. Sure enough, he tucked it under his chin and plopped down for a rest until Mama Terry gave him a reprieve.

Ah, but put that big camera down? He morphs into Mr. Cuddles and sharing a few puppy kisses before he trots off with his sisters, tail wagging happily, and puppy pictures are nothing but a distant memory lol. I’d say he’s a bit of an old soul, with a laid-back disposition that promises he’ll be a gentle but still entertaining canine companion.

Gentle kids would be appreciated, empty nesters would be adored, a position as second dog might be nice too!

Isn’t she just the dearest thing? Honey Dot (what else could she be called???) with her creamy white coat dusted in warm gold and that perfect little golden spot on her muzzle, she looks like she was kissed by autumn itself.

At first glance, she’s all velvet-soft ears, and butter surely wouldn’t melt in that sweet little mouth right? Ah, but she’s also a cozy rascal, who melts into your arms one minute, then dashes off to pounce on a falling leaf the next. She’ll keep you laughing, keep you on your toes and bring just that dash of spice your home might be lacking!

You already know I’m completely smitten with my Cavachons, and yes, they are still quite rare in the canine world, most people have never even seen one, but trust me, be it a Cavachon or Cavapoo, there is no better choice if you want an eminently suitable for family life small dog who will enrich your life in ways you never dreamed possible. I remain passionate about them after 20 plus years of raising them.

Cavachon Puppy RARE Black & Tan Girl | Wish I could keep her!!! | Totally PRECIOUS | 12 Pounds-ish

So for all of us who lallygagged and dragged our feet trying to decide if NOW was a good time to get a puppy, even popping her in our shopping cart (doesn’t keep a puppy from being sold by the way!) and contentedly going off to sleep to dream puppy dreams about our amazing new family member… Only to gaze in astonishment when those dreaded words, “FOUND MY HOME!” suddenly appear…. Alas, this dear baby girl has been purchased and will leave for her new Pennsylvania home in a couple of weeks. I know her new family will adore her and yes, probably spoil her to bit and hopefully send me pictures from time to time.

She couldn’t be a smidgen more irresistible if she tried, something about that tiny face and the expression in her eyes captured my heart from day one. Ah, but that's what I do, send these little bundles off to their new homes along with a cornucopia of toys, and a rather ridiculous amount of puppy goodies and various necessary supplies packed in their overflowing puppy kits.

This is such a wonderful color, with all the pizazz of the Tricolor, but instead of those flashy white boots, she has golden ones with teeny white booties,,, oh my word! I guess I’ve used up my allowance of exclamation points on this particular puppy. It will be a while before we have another one like her so all of us can sigh and turn our gaze to some of the other truly scrumptious offerings in this Cavachon litter. 

I just tucked everyone in bed and I never get over marveling at each little face and personality. How can they all be so winsome, each more adorable than the last, all so very different but each puppy taking a special place in not only my heart, but the hearts of the families they will go home to.

This baby has everything I hope for in a puppy, from her perfect type and style, to her attitude and cuteness quotient, I wouldn’t change one single thing about her 🌻

Oh, Hello Pumpkin!!! Isn’t our baby Sadie a puppy delight? That precious face, with her sweet gaze, all big-eyed and full of curiosity and just a wee bit of mischief! Yes indeed, my friend, a bit of mischief comes carefully wrapped with each one of our Foxglove puppies. Making them entertaining and perfectly happy to waggle their way into your heart with their funny antics and delightful puppy charm.

The lovely thing about these “Cavalier hybirds” is that they never outgrow that love of the comic and become, dare I say it, almost human in their ability to understand words and the moods of their people, and make it their mission to take such good care of their people that they truly become an indispensable part of your life. I adore that about them, and when people like Rick in Ohio, with two Cavachon brothers he bought almost 16 years ago, still sends me pictures and says they are loved beyond measure after all these years… What a joy for this dog breeder to have the privilege of bringing that kind of love and loyalty to people’s lives.

So our shiny apricot morsel of puppy fluff begins her journey, and as I type away, here on my front porch swing with the cool fall breeze blowing across my fingers, I endeavor to navigate Sadie Pumpkin to the heart and home that is waiting for her. The one that might not even realize what an empty spot this tiny creature could fill. And how many “layers of love” she will bring to her new family… And yes, send prayers up to Him who sees when even a sparrow falls, and I know, hears my requests that each of our puppies lives a long and healthy life and brings O’ so much JOY to the lives of those who need it. 🧡

I had such fun doing the pictures of this litter of Cavachon cuties! 🌻 As I longingly look towards fall during the last sultry hot days of an Ohio summer, I begin pulling out my fall decor early, in anticipation of cider time and leaves turning, long evenings in front of the fireplace with a stack of books I’ve been meaning to read. The puppies roll their eyes and tell each other, “Uh oh! She’s at it again, better look out, we’ll be knee deep in pumpkins before she’s done!”

Ah, but how can I resist when I have such inspiration as this little gingery girl with her pumpkin-flavored curls and that tiny face and those snowy paws that pattycake a tune that “Fall is in the air!” Even the puppies lift their little noses to the sky and can sense the crisp, cool days ahead 🍁

The camera loves this girl, and I almost think she knows it, posing this way and that for her puppy glamour shots. She has such a winsome way about her, confiding and gentle, but fear not, she’s also full of fun, and between time spent with you in front of that aforementioned fireplace, she'll bounce and pounce after her toys, skittering across the kitchen floor like a small kitten spurred on to puppy sillies when she hears your laughter. Cuz that's her job, remember? To bring Puppy Joy and a little comic relief counts, I promise!

I predict she’ll be an easy-peasy sort of pup, with only a bit of puppy drama here and there to keep you on your toes, lol. Fear not, she’ll have you trained in no time, and before you know it, you’ll be calling Miss Terry for your second Foxglove Farm puppy. Take it from one who knows, they are indeed addicting in the nicest possible way!

So Autumn Belle says it’s about time Mama Terry told all the Puppy Peoples about her sweet self! Somehow, I had placed her pictures at the bottom of the current puppies and she drifted out of sight until this evening. And, she’s such a great puppy, ah but these things happen for a reason and her family might just this minute be getting to the computer to see the new puppy and OH PUPPY JOY, fall head over heels in love with this golden brown girl 🤎

She’s learning her puppy lessons quickly, walking on the leash is a work in progress, but she’s getting there, with more bounces involved than any really steady walking lol. She tries extra hard to please, the mark of a compliant puppy, a very good trait to have in a dog.

Her coat is warm brown velvet with a silky texture that a brush simply glides through. A bit more Cavalier in style, with her beautiful face-framing ears and that round spanielly face. She has the Spaniel’s gentle nature too, yes, she can bounce and prance with the best of them but oh my, her favorite pastime is being with her people, preferably curled up asleep with some Hallmark movie playing quietly in the background television 📺

If you want a puppy who melts into your arms, watches the leaves fall with you, and settles in like she’s been there forever—Autumn Belle says she’s been waiting for you 🍂 (Whew! Now maybe she’ll forgive me for ignoring her!).

This chubby puppy guy reminds me of a yummy round dinner roll, all golden and so tempting you just cannot resist him!

He’s a totally earnest soul, with one ear that never quite cooperates, and the most endearing habit of tripping over his own paws like a toddler in rain boots. He keeps me laughing with his good-natured antics, falling off the teeter-totter (the girls love to send him flying, and mercy me, it is funny, poor silly boy!).

He’s one of those puppies who seems to grow so quickly that he can’t keep up with the changing size of his own paws 😂 “I may be clumsy, he says, but I’m trying my very best.”

With a marshmallow heart and the cutest floppy ears you’ve ever seen, Bubba Biscuit is one of the dearest puppies you’ll ever meet. Bring him home and be prepared to laugh out loud at his escapades. Better still, grab a fuzzy blanket and snuggle with your sweet boy while he recharges his batteries for the next round of babysitting the grandkids.

This gorgeous girl, posing so proper and pretty for her puppy pics, wants everyone to know that she’s like that in the real world, too! SUPER SWEET (she made me capitalize that!) and just the funniest little character. Fret not, she also is full of energy (in between naps) and loves to run around with her siblings (especially if they get to toss Bubba off the tetter-totter!), I try not to laugh, but it’s hard.

She’s a pinch bigger, with nice, round paws, a wonderfully velvety coat, and yes, a heart of pure gold. The perfect fit for just about any family, not a bit Alpha, smart, and trainable, and loaded with that classic Cavachon sensibility and charm.

Yes, she’s an absolute beauty, inside and out. I know she’ll be a delightful addition, so bring her home quick before so other Puppy Seeker spies her and whisks her off from under your nose!

SHE IS SUCH A DOLL BABY! Whew! Now I can take a breath, but did you ever? Don’t you just want to scoop her up and tell her how ridiculously adorable she is?!

Oh, I will try to control myself dear Puppy Peeps, but this litter makes it hard, the darling things, all of them have me cavorting in circles (when my back will allow such antics!)!🌻 🥰 🐶 The camera loves them too, just look at LuLu gazing ever so innocently at the sky while I take her photos, every angle is more winsome than the last, she was on her tippy toes trying to look irresistable I promise you!

Sporty and fun when you’re looking for a jogging companion, snuggly and destined to win the prize for the best four-footed couch potato ever, she’s adaptable and has a compliant personality that bodes well for all things puppy training. It’s never without a bit of drama, but when the puppy question looks like this, you’ll forgive her any mistakes cause she’s too cute to be mad at for long, lol.

As to size, I’m swinging back and forth a bit with these puppy kids. I’m usually pretty close, so I’m giving a range of 14-16 just to be safe. Small enough to tote along to Florida when you’re escaping the winter snows, but big enough to avoid the dreaded small dog syndrome and retain a good measure of the CKCS’ affectionate, non-barky nature. I’ve always loved the spaniel attitude, but combining it with a lovely non-shedding Bichon mother truly makes for an outstanding canine companion on every level.

Indigo Pearl is our seaside treasure, wrapped in soft sky-blue swirls and purest white accents. She’s soft, sparkly, and always ready for a nap on your lap after a morning of curiosity, playful and entertaining, but born with a snuggler’s soul 💙

I’m besotted with this color, my newest favorite, of course! I’m amazed at the lovely shades of this wonderful BLUE that appear in each of my merle babies.

Indigo couldn’t be a smidge more delightful if she tried, that swirly coat, those CRYSTAL BLUE EYES, a furry bundle of puppy bliss who thinks the world is indeed her oyster and prances those sparkling white boots as if she has to show everyone how rare and irresistible a puppy can be!

Yes, her coloring alone is enough to stop hearts mid-scroll, but it’s her sweet, soulful nature that really steals the show. She leans into your hand with a sigh, all soft ears (those tiny curls!) and happy tail wags, she adores everyone she meets and the feeling is I assure you, mutual!

Sporty and fun as well as beautiful, she adores gentle games of tug, pouncing after her favorite plush crab, and waddling off with a victory prize in her tiny jaws.

All of our puppies are being raised with love and a focus on the basics, Her temperament is wonderfully balanced: joyful and affectionate without being over-the-top, with a built-in love of all creatures great and small.
