Cedar Finn Finds Puppy Love 🧡

Terry Cross

Hello Puppy Loving Pumpkins!

It's been such a beautiful day here at Foxglove Farm. The maples are ablaze with my favorite fall colors, the two sentinels we planted a few years ago are already over 40 feet tall, and so brilliantly crimson and gold that they seem lit from within.

I had a lovely visit earlier today with Jennifer, who had fallen in love with Cedar Finn and wanted to come and meet him. Since Foxglove was just a short drive from her home, in no time at all, she was sitting in everyone's favorite room in my house, our big farmhouse kitchen.

We had been corresponding back and forth for a few days about the current puppies. I think we both knew Cedar Finn was the puppy for her. She just kept going back to him and finally rang to ask me to put him on hold before someone else scooped him up.

And, yes, it was truly love at first sight; she was here only a few moments and, no surprise to this dog breeder of long years, she immediately scooped Finn up into her arms and sat down with a joyful expression, exclaiming, "Oh, he is so beautiful, I love him!" I took a dozen pictures to preserve the moment. I love connecting people with the puppies who will bring so much Puppy Joy to their lives.

We do pray that each puppy finds his or her way to exactly the right home. And it's whimsy, I'm sure, but I knew that those prayers had been answered. Jennifer had already chosen him in her heart (and perhaps he had even chosen her?) when she first saw his small face gazing up at her from such an unlikely space as a computer screen.

And Cedar Finn?

He knew the instant he laid eyes on his beautiful new owner that she was his person.

As she held him, he turned and looked at me with that contented, most satisfied look that thanked me for helping him navigate to the person that he had been born to love...
