When you only wanted a little bite 🐦

Terry Cross

An innocent little Cavapoo character!

So what in the world was I thinking, ye ask? As you know, nothing is off-limits on Puppy Picture Day. I love decorating the puppies and setting up seasonal vignettes, and my most favorite season of all 🍂 FALL🍁 🍃means I’m in a decorating frenzy as I sail through the house gathering up bits and pieces that I just know will be the perfect accents for my coppery-coated little bundles.

Hum, this looks interesting…

All this being said, I knew when I spied that little brown wren sitting on my foyer table next to a plump pumpkin, that it would be the perfect addition to my Pumpkin Patch Cavapoos, (a little voice in the back of my head chimed that putting it within tempting reach of curious puppy fingers was not the brightest idea I've ever had, but nothing daunted, I scooped him up and placed him lovingly in the midst of my autumn puppy decor.

Yep! I knew it was edible!

(I failed to mention that I found that wren years ago on Etsy, and he's one of my special treasures, handmade with real felted wool and tiny tail feathers. Probably not the sturdiest choice of accessories, to say the least.

I try to be a good dog but sometimes I forget 😆

Pumpkin Petey the Cavapoo puppy.

Suffice to say that Pumpkin Petey took one look at his new bird friend, and his eyes began to gleam with anticipation 😂 I quickly realized the mistake of putting Mr Wren inches from this little redhead’s reach, but tried to snap a few pictures before rescuing him from a most disappointed Cavapoo cutie who looked innocently at me over the edge of his cozy bed and waited to see what else Mama Terry might need help dismantling. Never a dull moment in Puppyville!
